I was a beast. I stared into the mirror. I was an animal-not quite wolf or bear or gorilla or dog, but some horrible species that walked upright, that was almost human, yet not. Fangs grew from my mouth, my fingers were clawed, and hair grew from every pore. I, who'd looked down on people with zits or halitosis, was a monster. (47)

i loved this book..i wanted to see the movie but decided that i wanted to read the book first..i couldnt put the book down..hope the movie is as good..
The book is much better than the movie.
Such a great book! At first I didn't like Kyle but by the end I was rooting for him! Beauty and the Beast was always my favorite story...
This book is extremely well written. I thought the POV from the Beast (Adrian) was a very thoughtful way of going about the story. Some parts of the story, you just absolutely knew was from Beauty and the Beast and that's good and all, but I really appreciate that the author put effort into being as original as possible when retelling a children's fairytale into a version that a teen would want to read. I would love to see sort of a novella or a sequel to the book, but from Lindy's point of view. Go from the complete beginning where she was selling the tickets at the dance, and continue on through her life with her druggie of a father and finish when Adrian saves her at the end. I think it would be very interesting to see how the author thinks Lindy was thinking at the time of her stay with Adrian. All around a great book and an easy read!
This is a very well written modern re-telling of Beauty and the Beast from the perspective of a 16 year old boy turned into a beast living in New York. This story has several twists within it and the author does a great job keeping the reader interested. I loved this book and did not want to put it done until I was done!
This book was ok. I recommend it because it was a fast read (in that you just want to keep reading) and cute. I knew in what direction the book was going to go, but its predictability should not stop anyone from reading it. The lesson that the main character in the book learned was really important, and therefore, made this book a good book to read. Satisfaction and a message from this book!
not bad...
