The bail bonds office has burned to the ground, and bodies are turning up in the empty construction lot. To make matters worse, Stephanie is working out of a motor home she shares with a dancing bear, and Joe Morelli's old world grandmother has declared a vendetta against her. And just when Stephanie decides it might be time to choose between the two men in her life, Morelli and Ranger, a third man from Stephanie's past moves back to Trenton.

Add a CommentHot sex in this one, after Stephanie gets "the eye" from Morelli's Grandma Bella.
This is my first Stephanie Plum book and I have to say I found it very disappointing. I pulled this book from the New York Best Sellers list expecting a quality read, but in the end it wasn't good at all. There were too many characters introduced at the outset almost as if they were rushed, the relationships felt hollow and forced, Lula, Vince, and Mooner seemed ridiculous and over the top and almost pointless. The end of the book felt like it was there just to finish it off, but really didn't tie everything together. There were some funny parts where I did laugh out loud, but by the end it seemed like such a long time ago with too many cheap jokes following the one or two good ones. Overall I would not recommend this book.
Another book filled with great humour from Evanovich as usual, and I've loved reading this series since the first book. However, I'm looking forward to seeing Stephanie finally choose the one she wants, and for it to end happily. Overall another interesting and humorous read from Evanovich, with number eighteen coming out soon.
I used to love this series but I am so tired of Janet's repetitive plot devices.
A good, fast-paced read. The "which man will Stephanie pick?" plot is getting somewhat tiresome but lots of Grandma Mazur and Lula make for many laugh-out-loud moments.
I am glad that she added this book; I too thought that she was closing the series off with 16. I do now think that the time has come for her to make a choice in men and move on in her life. Stephanie is getting a little long in the tooth. As for the choice, it needs to be Ranger. Morelli is too constricting for her; my way or the highway kind of guy; Ranger accepts her as she is rather who she SHOULD be. I am anticipating a good new series with the Diesel series - new one out soon!
More laugh out loud bits than in the previous few outings. Not bad.
Big fan of this series but I feel like this book is really a two parter with the end of it coming out in late 2011. Also it seemed shorter on humour then some of the previous books.
Enjoyed this one a bunch. Better than the last few.
Once again, another laugh a minute, fast page turner. Be sure to look for the next book- "Explosive Eighteen", this coming November 2011.
