Not so very long ago, Eragon Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now, the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders. Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. Well..... This was a well written book, but the ending was HORRIBLE! Too much of a cliff-hanger for my liking... If there is going to be another book, then i am satisfied with the ending..... i agree with @jplane

I found Inheritance to be an insult to the Cycle. The book was a drag, and I forced myself to finish it so that I could find out Angela's secrets. That of course didn't happen. I hope Chris Paolini rewrites the book because this was a terrible way to end the series.

I found this a great conclusion to the story. I mean, sire it wasn't exactly what I wanted to happen, but it was a satisfying ending. I was really surprized by the twists and turns in teh plot line and it was really intruiging. Don;t forget to read Eragon, Eldest, and Brisinger before this one, otherwise you will totally lost.

So sad that it's over. I liked the way he killed Galbatorix, but the ending stunk. It dragged on and on and on. But other than that, I liked a lot. I mean, give me an 830 page book about dragons and magic and I'll probably love it.

Before he could suggest a new topic, a loud scream rang out from some where in the middle of the camp. The cry echoed three times over the rows of tents before fading into silence. Eragon looked at Angela, and she at him, and they both began to laugh.

As he was about to leave, she said,"Murtagh." He paused and turned to regard her.She hesitated for a moment, then mustered her courage and said,"Why?".She thought he understood her meaning:Why her?Why save her,and now why try to rescue her?She had guessed at the answer, but she wanted to hear him say it. He stared at her for the longest while, and then,in a low hard voice,he said,"You know why." pg 495
