Fave books of 2011

Annotation:A great follow up to Rot & Ruin. I love Jonathan Maberry's zombie reads. Can't wait for the last in the trilogy.

Annotation:Hugely entertaining. Very Jasper Fforde-ish

Annotation:If you like Hunger Games you'll like this.

Annotation:Follow up to The Adoration of Jenna Fox, telling the story from Locke's point of view. As with Adoration - it is a chilling insight into a possible future.

Annotation:I love Maggie Stiefvater's writing - so lyrical. I always end up writing passages down - I don't want to forget them.

Annotation:C J Box never fails to please. Probably not one of my absolute faves of his - but still a good read. Lots of action, drama and suspense.

Annotation:Was actually published 2010, but I didn't doiscover it til this year. Beautiful, just beautiful. Kathi Appelt's writing is just so perfect. A beautfully crafted story.

Annotation:Emily Gravett delivers once again. Gorgeous, gorgeous illustrations - so much expression and life and humour. And a story that all parents can relate to - read it again! I LOL'd at the surprise at the end :-)

Annotation:Delightful. Lovely story and gorgeous, expressive illustrations.

Annotation:OK, so it was published 2010, but I'm adding it to my 2011 list. It's my list, so there! This is a great example of making a subject, that some see as nerdy and boring; accessible, entertaining and funny.

Annotation:A novel way of presenting a boiography for kids - this book has so much going for it. Two stories in one, funky illustrations and hints and tips at the end about writing biographies.

Annotation:This is the first of Maureen Johnson's I have read - and I am now searching out her previous books. I like her style - entertaining, suspenseful and left me wanting more. Only thing I don't like - the cover. It doesn't fit the story.

Annotation:And this is another cheat - but it will be read within a week or so. And it is currently here because I love autographed (and doodled!!) copy I have. Book porn ;-)

Annotation:This has to be on the list - simply for the number of times it has been opened, referred to and dreamed over. August 2012 and it will be all real! Counting the sleeps...
