Te Ao Hou: A Moment in Time

All Day

Te Ao Hou: A Moment in Time, reflects on the long history and legacy the Te Ao Hou magazine has had in Aotearoa since its first publication seventy years ago. The framework for the exhibition comes from the opening article of the first volume that reads

Te Ao Hou should become like a marae on paper, where all questions of interest to Māori can be discussed.

The exhibition explores the articles, art and stories and welcomes you in a way that borrows from the marae process, the pōwhiri.

The exhibtion content changes throughout the duration. Themes explored are:

Whaikōrero: 16 April - 15 May
Hongi: 16 May - 12 June
Hakari: 13 June - 10 July
Poroporoaki: 11 July - 7 August
