Finding Hope | Judaism and Pre-War Jewish Life

6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Tūranga

Description

Learn about the key tenets of the Jewish faith, including Jewish identity, religious movements, and integration within wider European society. This programme, delivered by Kristopher Clancy is designed to give a foundation in understanding why Jews were often separate from the society in which they lived, leading to common misconceptions of the Jewish faith and the antisemitism that was exploited by Nazi propaganda.

  • What do Jews believe?
  • What are traditional Jewish practices?
  • Jewish life prior to the Holocaust

A panel discussion with members of the Jewish community will conclude the event.

Kristopher Clancy is the Education Director of the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand.
