Craft Snippets is a way to learn about artisan crafts from enthusiasts and experts who love to share. Come along this month and meet artisan crafter of soap and natural skin care products, Leisa Falconer.
"I first started soap making because I found cold process soaps were so much better for my skin and I was spending so much buying them. I decided it couldn't be that difficult to make them... I then went on a steep learning curve! With regards to skincare formulation, it was when my favourite Trilogy product was discontinued that I decided to see if I could make my own. Fortunately beautiful natural ingredients are now readily available in NZ and so are incredible online learning resources. Not only is it possible to make it yourself, but it's incredibly satisfying to know exactly what you are putting on your skin. It's not just a thing that only scientists can make."
After Leisa's talk we will look at craft books new to the library as well as chat about what is happening or coming up craft wise in and around Canterbury. We look forward to seeing you here.
