wonderful cinematography and sound design, but also completely unnecessary - the original did not need a sequel.

Just saw the tail end. The music was awful(what were they thinking?) replacing the weird slow music with more standard movie action music for the action scenes would greatly improve it.

Overly long sequel has a story with plenty of plausibility gaps. Many scenes just drag on and some of subplots are extended too far. Chocked with cliches too.

One to skip, the visuals are nice, but that is not enough to make up for the lack of storytelling or even the lack of entertainment for a plus 2 hour movie.

I gave it three stars for the quality of the film's scenes and acting. The story was rather disappointing, and the original is better.

Dreadful, just awful. Do not waste your time with this offal.
The trailer for the original is a better movie than this literal time waster.
How broke is Harrison Ford?
and is Ridley Scott being held against his will and forced to sign off on these travesties (Prometheus, anyone?) ?
just lazy filmmaking, not sure what the fuss is over Villenueve?

Its hard to follow up a classic science fiction film, but this is about as good as it gets: the sounds, imagery, character development are all top notch. I didn't quite like a few of the fight scenes which I thought were overdone, and there was an aspect of the plot that I didn't understand: why did Wallace corp. want to kill K and kidnap Decker?

Slow moving for some but very well done. I liked this one better than the original because this one had a deeper love story. Despite the indifferent look of the protagonist throughout the movie (and it makes sense because he’s a replicant), there’s a lot of emotion in this movie.

Almost as good as "Blade Runner, Final Cut". Almost better.

One of the best films of the last decade. Every scene is beautifully shot and wonderfully written. It's a slow and deliberate marathon of a movie designed to let you think and breathe. The original is a classic but this film manages to improve on it in every way. There is so much subtext and implication it takes multiple viewings to really unpack everything. I cannot speak highly enough about this movie.

Pages of quotes in IMDb including this title card introduction:

Replicants are bioengineered humans, designed by Tyrell Corporation for use off-world. Their enhanced strength made them ideal slave labor. After a series of violent rebellions, their manufacture became prohibited and Tyrell Corp went bankrupt.

The collapse of ecosystems in the mid 2020s led to the rise of industrialist Niander Wallace, whose mastery of synthetic farming averted famine. Wallace acquired the remains of Tyrell Corp and created a new line of replicants who obey. Many older model replicants - Nexus 8s with open-ended lifespans - survived. They are hunted down and 'retired'

Those that hunt them still go by the name... Blade Runner.
