She did a really great job of helping the reader to visualize what she was telling the reader.

This is such a dramatic story. My favorite part is when they have been let out of the trains and are sitting there dazed on the platform. Villagers have come to bring broth or whatever and a woman, trying to be kind, says, "Was it hard for you older ones to work?" The author says, "How old do you think I am?" "About 60?" "I am 14 years old." The woman is so horror-struck she retreats to the group of villagers waiting for their orders (from the Allies who have discovered these train cars full of concentration camp victims). That also happened to Beck Weathers when he staggered back to Camp IV during the 1996 Everest disaster, expecting help, and he was put in a tent and ignored, because nobody could stand to look at him.

I found that I read this boigraphy the same way I wouold read a book like The Hunger Games-- it was simply too fantastic to seem real.

I woulf not recommend this book for people under 13 because it is very descriptive, especially at the end.
