As head the Philadelphia-based General Vigilance Committee formed in 1852 to assist runaway slaves, Still kept a detailed journal of stories he heard from fugitive slaves he helped conduct along the Underground Railroad. In 1872, he published those accounts. Here is a selection of those stories, along with 20 drawings from the original edition.
