I did not like this film at all...just too much on all accounts.

What a delightful family, three beautiful young daughters and their loving parents! And the father has a creative, challenging job as an independent movie producer. The first half of this film is just so wonderful. But clouds are on the horizon as the movie company is in serious financial trouble. This film won the Cannes Un Certain Regard Prize (for newer directors).

This movie contains some great shots of Ravenna, especially S. Apollinare in Classe. It is also a poignant and thought-provoking movie.

the joys and sorrow of a family are juxtaposed with the hustle and bustle of Paris and the rather serene yet cold settings from abandoned churches and rustic villages...a must see even if you don't like French/subtitled films
