Born in Bowral, N.SW. in 1934, the author has spent a lifetime with horses, sheep and cattle. However, his great passion has been competitive horsemanship in almost every known discipline, at times to semi-professional level. The story of his apprenticeship as a Jackaroo has given us an insight to this interesting occupation. His descriptions of out back sheep and cattle station activities in the fifties, at times graphic, make enthralling reading. His humour is refreshing and his love of the sport of polocrosse is captivating.
