Excellent comic - among the best of modern comics. Don't believe the hype. Some people like to bitch about Bendis, but this is truly a great book. And OF COURSE... JRJR is in top form!

With this comic, I don't recall my reaction to it (having read it a while back) - not surprising given the tendencies of Bendis who is a rather polarizing figure in the Marvel Universe.

Bendis uses the time-traveling Kang the Conqueror to good effect in this paradox-filled opener to a new Avengers series. A satisfying blend of strong characterization, snappy dialogue and ominous sci-fi trappings.

Pretty good story, even if the artwork is distracting... Feels oddly weighted down by the cover characters who each have their own comic, whereas the side characters are actually growing as people.
