I love this CD it empowers me to be strong , beautiful and bold.
BEST ALBUM......OF ALL TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU GET A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING ..
This album is amazing. It displays the versatility that Beyonce' embodies. The album allows not only her fans, but the public to witness the different aspects of her personalty - sexiness, motherhood, insecurities, fierceness. She's all in one, and sets a great example for young and mature women all over the globe. As for the music, the album is all-round with pop songs, ballads, rap verses. One minute you're dancing around the lounge room. next your pretending you're in a rap video rapping along to the 'gangsterness' of hubby, Jay-Z. The album takes you on a trip, and allows you to experience many different feelings. I love it. I give it a thumbs up (and many more if I had more thumbs), 10/10, 5+ stars. I would give it a Grammy award if I had the ability too (no doubt Beyonce' will get one when the time comes around). I would recommend borrowing this out, buying it even. You've gotta love it.. it's Beyonce'
I have to say, my top five songs off this Beyonce album are: "Pretty Hurts"
( I think every female can relate to the lyrics of this song), "Drunk in Love", "Partition", "Rocket", and " ***Flawless".
Skipped through half of the songs really liked Rocket Till Waterfalls :-)
All I can say is that it's a good thing that she's already an established artist. This is one of those "creative" CDs where the person just does a whole bit of everything just because they can. Which is fine for her, it's good that she wanted to expand out her usual sound of things. However it leaves the CD without a cohesive sound. Her fans will love her for it thou. Only someone as big as Beyonce could get away with it. She does this at a smart risk, giving tons of extras (with music vids, interviews etc) radio friendly tracks (drunk in love) and a positive message song (pretty hurts). For me, personally, it's simply one of those "Look at me! I'm a rebel!" Cds.
Really enjoyed this album, especially "Pretty hurts," which is about body image issues among young women, and "Haunted." She is really honest in describing her emotions and issues affecting her and others. There is even a song featuring her little girl, Blue Ivy, which is very sweet.
There is a music video DVD that comes along with it. I thought a lot of the music videos were VERY SKETCHY (almost pornographic), and I thought she could have toned it down a bit. But the music is good.
