Some "think" Louis L'amour was just a great western writer. Sackett's Land is the first book in a series that spans almost 300 years. Barnabas Sackett started from England in the 1600's. Really, this is a historical novel. What makes this book so good is that it has the right mix of adventure, romance and historical significance. We thought this series was so good we added this audio book (in particular) and other Sackett Series books to our library.

“I would not wait for some vague tomorrow, nor for something to happen. One could wait a lifetime, and find nothing at the end of waiting. I would begin here, I would make something happen.”
