I enjoyed the novel. I loved the banter between the Avengers. It was weird that Sharon was old. I was surprised Steve did not pick his son to be the new Captain American.

Disappointing. This reminded me of the last page of Grant Morrison's JLA run where it seemed like he was just happy to get it over with, except this volume felt that way for the ENTIRE LAST ISSUE. The reveal of the new Captain America wasn't dramatic, and no offense, but this new Captain America is not even close to Steve Rogers in regards to nobility and fighting spirit. His son Ian would have been a better and bolder choice. The new Cap will never be Cap and will serve as the unlikeliest of all of the guys who have taken up the shield. He was way better as his own man. Anyway, enough of my rant. You've been warned. Oh, but I must say, loved the character moments with Jet Black and her eventual decision as to who she eventually sides with.
