Kevin Smith's films are often hit and miss, this is a bit of both. Michael Parks does an outstanding turn as the resident unhinged threat, and there's a great sense of impending creepiness about the film in the first half - however there are all sorts of odd plot holes and inconsistencies that ce... The most entertaining part for me in this movie was the abductor's way with words. The most tragic part of the movie was the time I spent watching it - time in my life that I'll never get back. Read the movie description. That's all you need to know about the movie. That'll free up time in your life for something productive.

The Human Centipede is oscar-worthy compared to this tripe.

It's a low budget film, which shows, but that's ok. You make allowances because the film was inspired by a factual event. The ending was very lacking though, as it seemed like the second they ran out of budget, they put an ending without any creativity. The cameo by Johnny Depp towards the end was the best part. Also nice to see Haley Joel Osment as an adult.

Do NOT watch this movie. It is psychologically SICK. I wouldn't ban this film, I would just quietly throw all copies into the garbage. Horrible for the human spirit. ZERO redeeming qualities. Disgusting. I can't imagine why the library bought it.

Kevin Smith was simply stretching too far on this movie. It was interesting, to say the least, but it lacked depth. You didn't really like any of the characters, and it left me shaking my head, asking "why?" Another hour and a half of my life I can't get back.

Not scary, not amusing, oddly flat... basically a complete waste of time. Avoid this one like it might steal a couple hours of your life.

Howard Howe: Are you really mourning your loss of humanity? I don't understand. Who in the hell would want to be human? God Almighty... In all of my travels, I've only ever known a human to be an ocean of shit.
