Rabbit is excited. He is going to surprise his good friend Robot at home. Ding dong! When Robot opens the door, he is surprised. He wasn't expecting Rabbit. In fact, he is already engrossed in a game of checkers with another friend, Ribbit. Now Rabbit is the one who is surprised, and a bit jealous. While Robot thinks everything Ribbit says is humorous, all Rabbit hears is ribbit. And Ribbit eats flies with her popcorn. Gross! When Rabbit and Ribbit get mad because they both want to be Cowboy Jack Rabbit, Robot's Emotion Decoder overheats, leaving him out of commission. I LOVED Rabbit & Robot and Ribbit just as much as Rabbit & Robot: The Sleepover (Book 1).

In this sequel, we are introduced to Robot's friend Ribbit the frog. Jealousy ensues when Rabbit learns about Ribbit. After a disagreement occurs between Rabbit and Ribbit and poor Robot’s Emotion Decoder overheats, the two friends have to work together to reset their robot friend.

Great fun to read aloud (especially using a r-o-b-o-t voice to read Robot's lines).

Perfect early chapter book for emerging readers that radiates the charming sensibility of Lobel's Frog and Toad, and the humor of Marshall's George and Martha.
