I had three little brothers. This takes me back....we also were the last development for awhile so a few blocks away we had fields to roam and explore. No trains or wide expanses like these boys had.... but still plenty of space for adventures with woods, creeks, and a cliff. Little boys are so different from little girls. This movie is a great portrayal of the heart and soul of that stage of their lives. Really liked the movie. Rob Reiner did a great job. This IS how it was.

What can i say! This is the best movie ever. It changed my life. I love Chris Chambers played by the amazing River.

This is my favourite movie ever! It really spoke to me. Especially Chris’s character, who was brought to life so very amazingly by the immensely talented River Phoenix, may he Rest In Peace. I cannot ever begin to explain how much I adore this movie. Seriously, just watch it.

Very sweet story of bond of friendship among a group of boys who need each other.

Boy, drama was NOT Mr. Rob Reiner's strength, by far. I always use the excuse that it was likely cuz it was "made in the 80s" and, sometimes, this tends to hold water. I do believe it bears a lot of the problems here, actually. This kind of story was just being handled by the wrong people (namely Reiner) and they had no idea what they were working on. There's a reason whey Clarence Brown did such a good job with family pictures and Steven Spielberg, as well. It was their strong suit.

I miss River Phoenix.

Directed by Rob Reiner in 1986 based on Stephen King's 1982 novella "The Body", this American coming-of-age drama depicts the adventure of four boys in a small town in 1959 Oregon who go on a hike to find the dead body of another boy.
Gordie, a protagonist and narrator, tells the fictional story of David "Lard-Ass" Hogan who enters a pie-eating contest and vomits to take revenge on his tormentors.
This hilarious scenes make me laugh to death.
I really love this crazy and foolish episode from the bottom of my stomach.
It turns out such an enjoyable entertaining piece.

I love this movie about young boys on an adventure to find a dead body. River Phoenix was by far the best actor, followed by Will Wheaton. Cory Feldman and a very young (and almost unrecognizable) Jerry O'Connor provides tons of laughs. Richard Dreyfuss is wonderful as the film's narrator, and is also known as Chris, the adult version of River Phoenix's character. Beautifully directed by Rob Reiner, this is a wonderful film!

Stand By Me is a coming of age film, that reminisces on the childhood of 4 kids during their summer break. It has a very simplistic vibe, that allows you to channel in your inner-kid, and adds a hint of mystery as well. The kids begin by hearing a rumor about a dead body and plan an adventure to find it. Little did they know, that there were other people with the same objective. The boys head off on a quest to find the body, and along the way they meet new and interesting characters, cause mischief and trouble, and learn more about themselves and the true meaning of friendship. Stand By Me is a film that releases the nostalgia in you, and allows you to see a new perspective. I rate this movie 5/5 stars. - @CoolReadz of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

Stand by me is a film about 4 friends during their summer break from school. In this film, they decide to go on adventure to find a dead body that they found out about. Along the way, there are many twists and turns. This film is honestly one of my personal favorites over all. It's a very feel good, exciting film. It's also very iconic, and one of the greatest movies of all time. Stand By Me is very true to its original novel, called 'The Body'. This film is very meaningful to me because I relate to the kids. They are all different, yet fit in with each other. I would recommend this film to young teenagers who are looking to find themself, as these teenagers did in the film. I give this film a 5/5. -Gummibee11 of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
