It's one of the best series on TV. I am addicted. I agree with another reviewer that the actress Alison Wright (Martha) is just fantastic. As is everyone in this production. I can't really single people out but I tell you the FBI agent Stan Beeman played by Noah Emmerich is just mesmerizing. I KNOW "wound up" folks like that and he holds it in and barely shares it. Man oh man THAT's acting at it's finest.

"The Americans" is both an espionage thriller and a domestic drama and, as such, is one of the best shows on TV. It remains just as intense and compelling in its third season, with excellent performances by Keri Russell (Who is a long way from "Felicity."), Matthew Rhys, Noah Emmerich, Annet Mahendru, and Frank Langella. The 80s setting is rendered with detail, but without being too over the top and adds to the somewhat subversive nature of the show; i.e., we're getting a Cold War show told from the Communist point of view.

Heart-breaking moral choices. Wretched betrayals and ruthless, brutal violence. They're some of the ingredients packed into this season.
The late night old woman scene was devastating.

I agree. Such a good season and loved Martha. Holly Taylor who plays Paige is from Middleton, Nova Scotia :)

The third season is when 'The Americans' really hits its stride. The writing is the best ever, the story lines are so compelling. In season 2, Holly Taylor played the daughter and she was best actress, for sure. But this season it's Alison Wright (as Martha) and Noah Emmerich (as Stan Beeman) who steal the show. Their characters are mesmerizing. Alison Wright deserves an Emmy and every other award out there. My jaw drops when I watch her onscreen.

Has been very entertaining, Cold war spying and the whole hush-hush thing is fun. Makes the FBI look like they can't track down spies... so far so good.

Still a solid show in its third season. The premise is so unique and interesting I'll probably continue to watch as long as they keep making it. I've become a fan of Keri Russell, despite never really liking her that much in any other role. The addition of Frank Langella to the cast this season was a good move.

This series just gets better and better. Five stars. Spies, dead drops, its got it all. Already anticipating Season 4.
