Really very interesting. Only 52 minutes long, this doco covers the first meeting between Russians and Maori. It stands out because the Russians weren't here to steal land or oppress anybody. They had been told by their Tsar to discover Antarctica, and treat every person they met with respect. They succeeded in both. What's doubly interesting is that the sketches the Russians did, the journals they kept, and the artifacts they traded for are the only record we have of that group of Maori. A few years later they were slaughtered by the chief Te Rauparaha with his newly acquired muskets.
