Jaqui B's second novel packs a punch. The premise is pretty out-there; JB revisits the idea of a deceased victim driving the story, as she did in Before You Knew My Name. There are a lot of threads to keep track of but I see this as a circular approach, reflecting the motif of the stage show, Carousel. I couldn't put it down: JB is so good with language, her characters have depth, even when peripheral.
