Craft Snippets: Catherine McDonald
Craft Snippets is a way to learn about artisan crafts from enthusiasts and experts who love to share. This month we will hear from Catherine McDonald.
Catherine is a quilt artist with 30+ years’ experience and has exhibited in New Zealand and many countries around the world. Catherine makes all of her own fabrics and likes to use a combination of machine and hand stitch in the majority of her recent works. She is the current president of Christchurch Quilters, convenor of Quilt Symposium 2026 and a life member of Aotearoa Quilters National Association of New Zealand. She is also a member of the international group Cloth in Common (www.clothincommon.com).
Come along to hear Catherine speak about her craft and after the talk we will look at craft books new to the library as well as chat about what is happening or coming up craft wise in and around Canterbury. We look forward to seeing you here.
