Join Cass Bay local Jeremy Webb in conversation with Dr. Rod Carr. They will be exploring climate change scenarios, effective global responses and what it takes to address this challenge. Jeremy has recently published a book informed by his work on climate change at the United Nations, attending climate negotiations, and research on these topics for his PhD at University College London. At this dynamic event, Jeremy will share his global perspective and look at what we can do locally to generate an effective global response.

Dr. Rod Carr


Rod Carr will be known to some of you as the inaugural chair of New Zealand’s Climate Change Commission, or possibly from his decade as Vice Chancellor of University of Canterbury. He has advised six different governments on education, health, financial regulation, monetary policy, the science system, infrastructure and resilience. He is a director of ASB bank and a trustee of the Banks Peninsula Conservation Trust. Rod has completed 23 marathons including in North Korea, The Polar Circle and Antarctica. What you won’t find is Rod driving a car, he has been legally blind since birth.
