Join author and poet Kristen Phillips for an honest and intimate look at her new book Dad, You've Got Dementia - Conversations With My Father a book that is not about what is being lost on a daily basis but what there is still to find. Kristin Phillips will be interviewed by Liz Grant. 
Darral Campbell CEO of Dementia Canterbury will join Liz and Kristin during the Q&A.

Kristen Phillips


Kristen Phillips was born in Te Awa Kairangi/Lower Hutt. She is tangata tiriti, with ancestors from Scotland and West England. She has lived and worked in London for most of her adult life and while there won a poetry competition and was a member of a poetry group for over ten years. In 2019 she took a year’s leave to spend time with her father, Don, who died of dementia in July. She is currently based in Aotearoa and works for Dementia New Zealand. She has lived with the writer Mia Farlane for over 30 years and is a member of a Wellington -based writing group. Kristen also reviews dementia books for the New Zealand Dementia Foundation. She is currently working on a sequel to Dad, You’ve Got Dementia.


Liz Grant


Liz Grant is a writer and editor with a background in broadcasting. She is a regular session chair at WORD festival events, which she particularly enjoys. Liz is the author of four books of non-fiction, and for three years she headed the writing team at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Now home living in Lyttelton, she continues to work freelance.
