Offered in 0 more formatsPachamam and the Jaguar Man deals with numerous human rights issues and abuses in the context of the fifty-one-year-old Colombian Civil War, a peace treaty for which was signed in 2016. This treaty was subject to a nationwide plebiscite held in late 2016, which controversially rejected the treaty. Margaret Edgeworth, a New Zealand documentary film-maker is kidnapped by Guerrillas while trying to make a documentary about a massacre inflicted on a Colombian indigenous community. She and another hostage, the Texan Ralph Purchase, are trying to work peacefully to bring change and hope for such valuable and endangered communities. The odds are stacked against them. Yet theirs is a story of hope, resilience; of epic struggle, transformation.
