Lee Martelli-Wood (MMus) is an accomplished pianist with a passion for New Zealand music. In 2025 Lee created Play Our Preludes, a series of free concerts that celebrated New Zealand piano music, to coincide with New Zealand Music Month 2025. As part of this initiative, she also ran a composition competition, giving Auckland-based composers under the age of 30 the opportunity to submit works for performance and publication in the collection. The five winning pieces along with one highly commended work were featured in her concert series, and are the pieces included within this book.
